Carrolls Chronicle June 2015
June is here already and winter is upon us.
The heaters are on in the sheds and everyone is working that little bit slower.
We are still busy in the shop but you do notice the hair color a bit darker as the grey nomads head north for the warmer climate, lucky them.
New to the shop is a 50 calibre bullet twist pen for those that like their bullet pens this is the big one. The coolest thing we have had in years is the Reptiler Eyemuffs, I tried these out before puting in an order and was very pleased with the ease of use and not having to worry about where are my ear muffs or safety glasses.
I tried these in the workshop with the table saw, mitre saw, router, & Nail guns, yes we are renovating. They are comfortable to wear and with the flip up glasses made it easier for my older eyes to focus on the small measurements, then flip back down and keep the eyes protected.
New from Proxxon is their Angle sander polisher WP/E a variable speed sander polisher which is ideal for power sanding on your turned or carved work and then speed up for polishing.

Reptiler Eye Muffs are the next best thing for safety in the work shop.
You now have the ability to have hearing and seeing safety in the one peice and the ability to flip up the lenses to allow you to see clearing for marking out and measuring then flip down for safe use.
There is a lot of uses for both in the workshop and out in the garden where noise is a concern.

Proxxon Angle Sander Polisher WP/e is a variable speed sander polisher with a 50mm head.
This makes it ideal for use in sanding on the lathe or your carvings and also up the speed to polish the peices as well.
With a speed range of 800-2500 rpm it makes it suitable for a lot of uses.

New to the shop is the 50 calibre Twist bullet Pen.
This is a large pen which would look good on any desk.
It is 20mm in diameter and 137mm long with a twist action.
You still use your standard mandrel and a 7mm drill bit but do need the 50 Calibre bushes
